Ambassador Pressman compares the Hungarian government with the Kremlin

David Pressman, the US ambassador to Hungary, likened the Hungarian government to the Kremlin. He said that Orbán’s cabinet reacts in the exact same way as Moscow when other countries try to interfere in its internal affairs.

At a panel discussion with Milorad Dodik at the Trebinje Energy Forum in Bosnia and Herzegovina on Wednesday, Péter Szijjártó called it outrageous that the US State Department is dealing with the internal affairs of other countries. He critisised their writing reports on the human rights and other situations of foreign states on the basis of all kinds of “one-sided information”, Index reports.

The Foreign Minister was reacting to a 2022 human rights country report published on 20 March by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. The report also criticises the independence of the judiciary and freedom of the press in Hungary. It also looks specifically at corruption in Hungary.

PM’s chief of staff: Hungary committed to staying out of war

Hungary remains committed to staying out of the war in Ukraine, calls for a ceasefire and peace talks, and does not participate in weapon deliveries, the Head of the Prime Minister’s Office told a press conference on Thursday.

The past few weeks have seen “an increasing number of worrying statements” rejecting ceasefires and calling for continuing the war, Gergely Gulyás said. Those calls point to an escalation rather than the peaceful solution Hungary’s government is promoting, he said.

The government stands by the ceasefire and peace talks as the only way to save lives, he said. Accordingly, Hungary will stay out of weapon deliveries, but remains an active member of all preparations geared at increasing defence capacity and improving defence equipment within the NATO or Hungary, he said.

Hungary wishes to take part in the European Union’s joint ammunition purchase, but only for domestic use, and will not send life-threatening equipment abroad, he said. He also called on all political forces to support the “pro-peace resolution” submitted by ruling party lawmakers at the vote in parliament next week.

In this case, since the comparison is among similar things, the correct preposition should be “with” instead of “to”. He compared the Hu govt with the Kremlin.

There is an oppressed minority of Hungarians in Ukraine. Extending the war puts the lives of Hungarians at risk. However, Pressman and the Biden Administration should pay attention to bank failures, baby formula shortage, and reducing the extremely high criminal activity. Pressman is right, Hungary does resent foreign interference in its internal affairs. The US does the same, just to mention the four-year inquiry into made-up Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Hungary is helping the people of Ukraine. The country welcomes all Ukrainian refugees, looks after them and help their settlement wherever they wish to settle.

Oh, press off, pal. Hungary is not a U.S. state or territory, nor would the 10 million ordinary Hungarian citizens be able to deal with the fallout from participating in silly political escapades with deadly serious economic consequences. Not everyone has private jets and chauffeured limos to swan around in, Mr. Pressman. Most of us have to be able to afford to eat, heat our homes, and, heck, maybe go on a measly vacation once a year!

Why was Szijjártó criticising the U.S. State Department IN BiH?!

If he has issues with it, why not do it DIRECTLY, or IN HU, or via the U.N.? Is the FM on a campaign to make U.S,. enemies in other countries by giving voice to concerns that affect HU? Certainly seems that way.

Kindly tell this shill to go home- the US and many of it most powerful agency’s are corrupt. The Biden crime family was the main in Ukraine,with the then VP of the US man in charge. They weren’t happy with 2 times elected president and the set out destroy him and put in their man- funding the revolt- something about the gov acting like the Kremlin – sound familiar? The same people are running the Ukraine war today. Interesting a media site like this seems to know little that has gone in neighbor country and reports little. Maybe the ambassador can have Vitoria Nuland and Blinky pay a visit- tell us how the the kremlins spent 150K to get trump elected- a fraction of the Million the DNC spent on the pee pee story and continued the lie for over 4 years. Maybe he can explain how the FBI had Twitter silence thousands that they asked to have silenced -it’s all documented and doesn’t include the The Facebook and google that we know happened.
